★3.5【FILE 2004】2023/08/11 (Fri) 13:57 Visited a Japanese tea cafe that opened in April 2013 on the 5th floor of the Kabuki-za Tower along Showa Street in Ginza. This is a repeat visit after 8 years and 9 months. The interior of the cafe has a refreshing atmosphere with a predominance of wood and black, and it offers a panoramic view of a sky garden with its all-glass exterior. Inside, there are 28 seats in total: 2 private tables in the front, 4 private tables in the back with a view of the sky garden, 3 sets of 4 tables in front of a room with a view of the sky garden, 3 sets of 2 tables along the window, and 4 individual tables. When I arrived at 13:57, there was already a full house, with a queue of 8 people waiting. After a short wait, I realized that they were calling out the names of people in line, using a name registration system. At that point, I registered my name, but I was already 10th in line. I was seated at 14:35, 38 minutes after my arrival. The clientele consists of 80% women and 20% men. The service is efficiently handled by one male staff member and two female staff members. The menu includes Matcha and Raspberry Millefeuille (¥1650 incl. tax, with Japanese black tea or coffee), Rich French Toast (¥1600 incl. tax, with coffee or iced green tea), Matcha and Genmaicha Eclair (¥1680 incl. tax, with light tea), Matcha Summer Ice (¥1600 incl. tax, with hojicha), and Basque-style Matcha Cheesecake Set (¥1650 incl. tax, with Japanese black tea or festival tea). I ordered the Matcha and Raspberry Millefeuille for ¥1650. Seven minutes after placing the order, it was served. The order included ripe coffee from the Sakaarema Group farm in Brazil, which uses organic fertilizer and single-origin beans that are grown and ripened on the tree. The coffee has a refreshing taste. The cake, Matcha and Raspberry Millefeuille, is made using a traditional French method of layering leaves and baking them into a crispy pastry, filled with a smooth matcha custard cream and raspberry, topped with matcha powder. The combination of the rich matcha custard cream, the sweet and sour raspberries, and the crispy pastry is delicious. The interior of the cafe, with its wood and black theme and all-glass exterior, creates a sense of openness with a view of the sky garden. Although there were options for garden seating, counter seating, and table seating on the registration sheet, there were 10 parties waiting, so I chose any available option. As a result, I was seated at the counter, but I couldn't see the sky garden, which was the main reason for my revisit. There were two failures: realizing the name registration system too late and being seated at the counter, where I couldn't see the sky garden. Waiting for 38 minutes at the counter was a big disappointment.
